About this experience

Experience the art of making your very own custom candle at Lanterne Lab in New York City! With a variety of vessels, scents, and personal customizations, you can pour your own luxury candle that's one of a kind and perfectly crafted. We provide all the materials, so all you have to do is enjoy the process and have fun. Also, feel free to bring your own beverages :) Note, no food is allowed in our space.

Duration: Each experience takes about 45 minutes to an hour, plus an additional hour to cool and set. The vibrant Chinatown neighborhood is the perfect place for you to explore, grab a bite to eat, and shop local before returning to pick up your masterpiece according to the schedule below. Don't worry if you can't return the same day—we'll hold onto your candle or ship it to you for $10 per candle.


Candle Refill: A NEW option for you to sustainably reuse your Lanterne Lab candle vessel! Please ensure your vessel has been cleaned prior to arrival. You will not be able to clean your vessel at our lab and will be charged a full experience for a new vessel.

Cancellations/Late Policy: We want your candle making experience to be perfect, so we recommend arriving at least 10 minutes prior to your booked class (and no more than 15 minutes past your booked time). If you are running over 15 minutes late, please email hello@lanternelab.com to reschedule.


If you request a cancellation at least 48 hours (2 days) before the time of your experience, we'll issue you a full refund. If you do not show up or cancel within 48 hours, you can reschedule but we will not be able to issue a refund.


Age requirements: Because candlemaking include handling hot wax and fragrance oils, children must be 10 years or older to participate. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian throughout the entire session and must purchase their own seat. Children under 10 are not permitted in the workshop space. Safety first!


Location: On the corner of Mulberry St. & Bayard St. in Chinatown, Lanterne Lab is conveniently located near the Canal St. (6, J/Z, N/Q/R/W) or Grand St. (B/D) lines.
